The latest Swann Illustration auction catalog is now online. The Illustration auction, usually chock-full of interesting New Yorker material, is trimmed down this time, and has been merged with Fine Books and Autographs. Among the few New Yorker artists represented: Peter Arno, Carl Rose, Roz Chast, and Whitney Darrow, Jr..

The New Yorker‘s editor, David Remnick has a new (not-at-all related-to-cartoons) book, Holding The Note: Profiles In Popular Music (Knopf). Why, you might ask, is a non-cartoon book mentioned here on a site devoted to New Yorker cartoons and cartoonists? Mr. Remnick is the final word on what cartoons appear in the magazine.
