The Monday Tilley Watch Takes A Glancing Look At The Art & Artists Of The Latest Issue Of The New Yorker

The Cover: bicycles

The Cartoonists & Cartoons:

Twelve cartoons, thirteen cartoonists (Emily Flake has a “Comic Strip”). One duo, that we know of (the Spill counts duos as one cartoonist). No newbies. The longest active contributor in the issue is Roz Chast, whose began appearing in the magazine in July of 1978.

The Rea Irvin Talk Watch:

One fine Monday morn I hope to “open” up my digital edition of the brand new issue of The New Yorker and find the below iconic design by Rea Irvin is back to where it once belonged (it was replaced in the Spring of 2017 by — gasp! — a redraw). Read about it here.

Didn’t happen this week…but maybe next!
