Fave Photo Of The Day: New Yorker Cartoonists Gather In Texas

The occasion of today’s SXSW panel in Austin, Texas, moderated by Liza Donnelly, and including New Yorker cartoonists Zoe Si, and Navied Mahdavian, as well as the magazine’s cartoon editor, Emma Allen, brought together the group of New Yorker cartoonists below. New Yorker cartoonist Julia Suits took the photo (my thanks to her, and to all in the photo, for allowing its use here). 

From left to right: Navied Mahdavian, Liza Donnelly, Sam Hurt, and Sophia (Weideman) Glock

Navied Mahdavian began contributing to The New Yorker in February of 2018.

Liza Donnelly sold her first cartoon to The New Yorker in 1979. 

Sam Hurt began contributing to The New Yorker in March of 2021.

Sophia (Weideman) Glock began contributing to The New Yorker in October of 2017.

Julia Suits (not pictured, but photographing) began contributing to The New Yorker in 2006.
