The First “Boxing Day” New Yorker Cover
In The New Yorker‘s first year (ninety-five years ago), the December 26th cover belonged to S.W. Reynolds, his second cover of that first year (his first was on the issue of November 21, 1925). He went on to have ten more covers (the last: July 23, 1927).
I’ve been unable to find anything on Mr. Reynolds (there’s plenty on the other S.W. Reynolds who lived in earlier times, 1773- 1835). I’d appreciate hearing from anyone with info on The New Yorker cover artist.
