The Cartoonists and Cartoons:
Seventeen cartoons, eighteen cartoonists (Ed Steed handles this week’s “Spot” drawings). No newbies. One duo, that we know of. The longest active contributing cartoonist in this issue is Roz Chast, whose first New Yorker drawing appeared in the issue of July 3, 1978.
Nice to see a drawing — a truly fab drawing — by the late great Sam Gross.
The Cartoon Caption Contest Cartoonist: Liza Donnelly
