Title Reveal…Paul Noth’s Debut Cartoon Collection
Coming this September, published by Union Square & Co., Paul Noth’s debut cartoon collection, I Am Going To Eat You…And Other Awkward Truths: A Cartoonist’s Romp Through The Lunacy Of Our Times.
The “I am going to eat you” part of the title comes from Mr. Noth’s August 29, 2016 New Yorker drawing (shown here). There’s no cover image available yet for the collection, but I’m betting that the “He tells it like it is” drawing will play a part.

A Rea Irvin Homage To…Rea Irvin?
I recently came across this Rea Irvin October 4th, 1930 cover, and was immediately reminded of his iconic cover for the debut issue of The New Yorker. Maybe I’m seeing something that’s not really there, but I’d like to think that Mr. Irvin was having a bit of a laugh.
Many of you will remember when R.O.Blechman provided a direct female connection to Eustace Tilley on the cover of the 71st anniversary issue in February of 1996 (in case there was any doubt, the magazine IDed Mr. Blechman’s cover woman as “Eustacia Tilley”). I suppose you could say that Mr. Irvin was ahead of his own time, or something like that.
