Harry Bliss Featured In Steve! (Martin) Documentary
New Yorker cartoonist, Harry Bliss, can be seen in the just released documentary, Steve!. Mr. Bliss’s work is also featured, often in animated form (it occasionally appears to be shimmering).
You’ll remember that Mr. Martin’s Number One Is Walking, a memoir of his movie career, was published in graphic novel form, with Mr. Bliss’s work providing the graphic element (we see them working on the book in the film). The two also co-authored a collection of their collaborative cartoon work, A Wealth Of Pigeons.
Harry Bliss began contributing to The New Yorker in 1998. Visit his website here.
In the past, Mr. Martin has worked with at least two other New Yorker cartoonists: Roz Chast, and an unnamed (by Martin) but easily identified cartoonist.
