101 years ago today, issue #1 of The New Yorker, Magazine with cover by Rea Irvin, appeared on newsstands*.

Long may it publish.

*For the sake of clarity, it’s important to note that the first issue first appeared on newsstands Tuesday, February 17, 1925. But we’ll go with February 21st as the day we blow up balloons and have cake.
