Seventeen cartoons, eighteen cartoonists (Barry Blitt has a Sketchbook). No duos, that we know of. No newbies. The longest active cartoonist contributor in the issue is this cartoonist (via the Caption Contest); I began contributing to The New Yorker in 1977.

The Rea Irvin Talk Watch:
Rea Irvin’s classic Talk design, the one you see above, stood in place for 92 years before being given the hook (in the Spring of 2017) and replaced by — gasp! — a redrawn version by a contemporary illustrator. The Spill hopes that the powers that be reconsider and return Mr. Irvin’s work. Read more.
