Eighteen cartoons, nineteen cartoonists (Roz Chast has a sketchpad). One duo, that we know of (the Spill considers duos as one cartoonist). No newbies. The longest active cartoonist in this issue is Roz Chast, who began contributing in July of 1978.

The Rea Irvin Talk Watch:
Not so very long ago (or was it?) Rea Irvin’s wonderful design for The Talk Of The Town was yanked out of its long-time spot (92 years)and replaced by — if you can believe it — a redraw. The Spill continues to keep its fingers crossed that Mr. Irvin’s art will return. Read more here.
