Latest Addition to The Spill Library: “Writing For The New Yorker”
This interesting title came in yesterday’s mail. Published in 2015 by Edinburgh University Press, edited by Fiona Green, Writing For The New Yorker has some cartoon content — most of it (from my quick run through of the text) seemingly centered around the John Updike chapter (there are a number of Updike drawings reproduced as well as a trio of Steinberg drawings. Updike’s Thurber dog drawing is also mentioned). The book also contains: the May 8, 1926 Vladimir Bobritsky New Yorker cover; an Alan Dunn drawing from the issue of November 27, 1943, and several ads that appeared in the magazine.
