Al Frueh’s Thurber-like Drawing

Al Frueh, mentioned here yesterday (his was the first cartoon in the very first issue of The New Yorker) provided the below drawing in the April 9, 1960 issue of the magazine (“The Thurber Carnival” had opened the previous February). Mr. Frueh did a great job of staying true to his own style while tipping his hat to Thurber’s. Love those seals!
