Christopher Weyant’s Award
Congrats to Christopher Weyant (seen here in a photo posted on social media), who won the National Cartoonist Society award in the category of best single panel cartoons* at the Reuben Awards in Boston on the 15th of this month.
Mr. Weyant began contributing to The New Yorker in 1998. Visit his website here.
Congrats also to Mr. Weyant’s fellow nominees in the category (both New Yorker cartoonists): Amy Hwang and Dan Misdea.
*The NCS’s actual category title is “Gag Cartoons” — the Spill is waging a (one-person) campaign to switch all usage of “gag cartoons” to “single panel cartoons.” “Gag” hurts my ears.
