Felipe Galindo’s “Taking Liberties” Exhibition & Book
Felipe Galindo, (akak Feggo) who began contributing to The New Yorker in 2002, has a new book,Taking Liberties, tied in to an exhibition (as described on his website):
… images inspired by the Statue of Liberty. It is an homage to the iconic symbol and a celebration of all it has come to represent from the perspective of a Mexican immigrant artist. My illustrations and cartoons place Lady Liberty on imaginary scenes, and spark commentaries on issues such as social justice, immigration, and American life.
