Tuesday Spill: Now That’s A Cover!

Now That’s A Cover!

One of the delights of looking through the coffee table book, The Complete Book Of Covers From The New Yorker (Knopf, 1989) is discovering new favorite covers, or being reminded of covers I’ve always loved. The above, by Adolph Kronenberg is in the latter category. It’s a wowzer — art that is the city, bringing the viewer into a moment that anyone can relate to who’s looked down from a tall building. Of Mr. Kronengold’s twenty-two covers for The New Yorker, this was his first. Quite a debut!
