First & Last: Raymond Thayer
One of Ink Spill’s reasons for being (I’d say “raison d’être,” but I don’t speak French) is spotlighting and remembering New Yorker cartoonists who may have slipped out of sight over time. I believe that the cartoonist Raymond Thayer fits the bill. His work appeared in the magazine four times: July 3, 1926; October 31, 1931; May 1932; September 17, 1932. Searching online for more information about Mr. Thayer I was thrilled to find this site, with a Thayer entry (including the portrait of the artist shown here) credited to David Saunders.
