James Thurber’s The Years With Ross, originally published in 1959 by Little Brown & Co. (and in the UK by Hamish Hamilton), is an example of a Thurber title that has stayed with us over time, with various adjustments to the cover art. I thought it would be fun to show all the various covers I could track down. Many of these are in the Spill’s cartoon library; a few are still on the “want list.” If there are more Years With Ross covers (and I have a suspicion there are) please let me know. The original cover is shown first, followed by its UK companion. The very last cover, bottom of the post, is from 2020. My first copy was the paperback, second row down with the photo of a typewriter on the cover.
