This MAD Magazine Eustace Tilley parody (published as the back cover of the March 1977 issue) somehow escaped my attention for 48 years. I just ran across it yesterday.
Without an actual copy in hand, I’ve no idea who the artist was. If you know, please let me know.

Here’s a Spill piece from March of 2024 showing some other parody covers.
The art came up for auction a few years ago, revealing that it was by Bob Clarke. Makes sense, as Clarke was known for being especially skilled at mimicking other artist’s styles. If you look in the lower right corner, you can see the signature “R.C.”

I remember this well. MAD magazine informed my formative years and for that I will always be grateful to the Usual Gang of Idiots. I might have that issue. I will do some digging.
