Out tomorrow is The 40s: The Story of a Decade (Random House) a New Yorker anthology that includes (according to the magazine): “some of The New Yorker’s most significant articles, stories, and poems … placed in history by the magazine’s current writers.”
The New Yorker is celebrating the book’s release by providing online visitors with two slideshows of the magazine’s art form the 1940s, covers and cartoons
(an aside note: the publisher’s description of the book doesn’t mention cartoons and covers.)
