Away From My Desk
For the next few days The Spill will post on the run, so to speak, as I’m away from my work table and at the mercy of spotty internet service. Under the circumstances, the ability to put together a “normal” Spill post is iffy. Whenever this happens (here comes the upside!) I’m never without my trusty Rapidograph (the one on the far right in this photo of the others that have served well over the decades) and a supply of cheap copy paper. That means that no matter the challenges posed by technology, the cartoons continue on.
That’s one of the really good things about working with these simple tools of pen, and paper: nothing gets in the way of drawing talking pigs making cookies or aliens from outer space enjoying themselves at a ball game, to name just two drawings that I’ve never done, but might — but probably won’t — now that I’ve just thought of them.
So off I go, before I lose my internet connectivity mid-sentence. A last fyi on this Friday: The Spill‘s Monday Tilley Watch will most likely appear Tuesday of next week.
