Liza Donnelly Live-Drawing On Oscar’s “Red Carpet”
Liza Donnelly, who began contributing to The New Yorker in 1979, makes her 6th visit to live-draw from The Academy Awards “Red Carpet” this Sunday (Red Carpet is in quotes because the carpet isn’t red this year — it’s more of a neutral color; the Oscar folks call it “champagne”).
Ms. Donnelly, you may recall, made history in 2016 by being the first person to ever “live-draw” on the red carpet. Here’s a link to her website where you can read about some of her experiences in Hollywood and see a ton of her drawings.
Donnelly has been in Hollywood this week , to cover the pre-show festivities including the carpet roll-out on Wednesday. See her roll-out drawings here.
and go here for some “Day Three At Oscar Week” drawings.
Ms. Donnelly’s live on-the-scene drawings can be seen on Oscar night via The New Yorker‘s social media feed as well as Vanity Fair’s.
