With the addition of 39 new members today, Ink Spill’s “One Club” (a designation reserved for those artists who contributed just one drawing to the New Yorker during their careers) has reached a grand total of 127. With today’s inductees, I’ve reached the end of the alphabet in the New Yorker’s database. There are additional members waiting in the wings as the 30 year cut-off approaches for them.  But for now, we have this rather unexpected (unexpected by me at least) number of cartoonists who for 127 reasons, never made it to the second publication in the magazine.
