The Friday Spill: Salle & Arno; A NYTs Q&A With David Remnick; Daily Cartoonists & Cartoons

David Salle & Peter Arno

From The East Hampton Star, Oct. 1, 2020:

The article includes this:

“The figures are painted in a bold linear style inspired by the mid-20th-century New Yorker cartoons of Peter Arno.”

As noted on this site the other day, no cartoons in this upcoming title (out October 6th). There is however, a good bit of humor threaded through this New York Times “By The Book” Q&A with The New Yorker‘s editor, David Remnick.

“How Bob Dylan Turned David Remnick on to Serious Reading”

Today’s Daily Cartoonist: Joseph Dottini (with Alex Pearson) on voting by mail. Mr. Dottino began contributing to The New Yorker in October of 2017.

Yesterday’s Daily Cartoonist: Liz Montague, who began contributing in March of 2019, on voting.
