Hit-and-Run Review: Jules Feiffer at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, NY , Nov. 1, 2007: An enthusiastic audience greeted Feiffer's appearance last night at Vassar's Vogelstein Center for Drama and Film's Martel Theater. A slide show as his backdrop, Feiffer paced the stage, and spoke without notes, while taking the crowd on a tour of his comic influences -- what was really a mini history of early 20th century comic art -- then headed on into his career as cartoonist, screenwriter, playwright. and children's book author. The crowd roared as Feiffer read his cartoon dialogue out loud, taking on the voices of his characters, which included spot-on impressions of Henry Kissinger, Jimmy Carter, and Mahatma Gandhi.
